In 2021, our team at IIT Ropar dared to rethink the impossible: Why should clean energy’s future be chained to the past? We challenged the industry’s reliance on expensive membranes, pioneering a radical alternative—decoupling hydrogen and oxygen production in time instead of space.
 

The result? A 2022 breakthrough proving membrane-less electrolysis could be more efficient, scalable, and affordable. Today, our innovation has grown from lab-scale trials to partnerships with leaders like Omega Seiki Mobility and Matprop.
 

As we launch pilot projects, what began as a question in Punjab is poised to transform global energy—proving limits exist only until they’re broken.

He has led products from concept to market success, driving business strategy and fundraising while building scalable technologies that deliver lasting social and environmental impact through sustainable solutions.

Dr. Dhiraj K Mahajan

Dr. Mahajan is a hydrogen tech pioneer and professor at IIT Ropar with expertise in indigenous hydrogen energy—storage and fuel cells. He plays a key role in shaping India’s clean energy future through his work with the CII Green Hydrogen Taskforce and BIS standardization.

Head, Research & Innovations

Dr. Runjhun Dutta

Dr. Runjhun, ex-Ola Electric, drives our R&D with deep expertise in material science, semiconductor physics, and thin-film tech. She focuses on scalable green hydrogen, innovating electrochemical methods to enable membrane-free electrolysis and sustainable energy solutions.
